Why i chose to help new parents

When my sister had her first baby, I saw firsthand how overwhelming those early weeks could be. She was exhausted, unsure, and constantly questioning whether she was doing things right. I started coming over a few times a week—sometimes just to hold the baby so she could nap, other times to bring her meals or simply listen.

One afternoon, as she finally got a moment to sip her tea and exhale, she looked at me and said, “I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”

The first real smile

It had been a long night—one of those early newborn nights filled with feeding, rocking, and pacing back and forth across the living room carpet. I was running on fumes and quietly wondering if I was cut out for this whole parenting thing.

Just as the sun started to peek through the blinds, I picked up my baby for what felt like the hundredth time. I whispered, “We’re gonna be okay,” more to myself than to her.
